고난의 길

십자가를 등에지고 병정들에 이끌려

주님 갈보리에 길을 걸을때

사람들은 몰려왔네 죽음의 길 걷는 그를 보려고

가시 면류관을 쓰신 주를 조롱하였네

채찍소리에 흥겨워 하면서

그들은 소리쳤네 자칭 메시아를 못 박으라고

사랑하는 제자마저 모두 떠나 버리고

증오와 멸시의 비웃음 속에서

너와 나를 위한 그 애절한 사랑때문에

주님은 그 길을 걸어가셨네 갈보리 길

사람들은 말을했네 이젠 모두 끝이라고

더 이상 그를 기대 할 수 없다고

자신마저 구원 못한 그는 메시아일 수가 없다고

갈보리의 그 길만이 진정 구원의 길인것을

그 누구도 이해하지 못했지만

너와 나를 향한 하나님의 사랑 때문에

주님은 그 길을 걸어가셨네 갈보리 길

십자가에서 흘린 보혈은 예루살렘 유다와 땅 끝까지

구원의 강물이 되어 온세상 덮었네

세상의 모든 죄를 대속했네

모두 비웃고 조롱하며 떠났던 바로 그 길을

이젠 너와 내가 가야만하네 생명의 길 우-

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary

He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death

Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary
